My family took over the West Lane Inn, just steps from the museum. I ended up getting my hair done right in town at the Adam Broderick salon I regret not doing a trial because my hair did not come out exactly how I wanted it, but still pretty. It really wasn’t too difficult if you know what you want and was not more costly. I would not be deterred by having to coordinate vendors. I ordered flowers wholesale from Costco and made my own arrangements for the hightops, gift table, and ceremony. We found a caterer and DJ really early on, then locked down a florist for the centerpieces and bridal/bridesmaid bouquets. The details really fell into place great. We also had about eight high tops dispersed on the lower lawn, where the bar was also set up. It looked really pretty and allowed us to have a bigger dance floor in the house. Then for the reception, we had some tables inside the Garden House and some on the patio and two on the lower lawn. The ceremony in the garden was stunning- no extra flowers are needed, but we did opt to have two arrangements on the sides of the brick landing. We had originally planned on having a wedding with 150+ people, but I am SO GLAD we decided to keep things small and intimate (we didn’t really have a choice because of the pandemic). It really is time perfect venue if you’re having a smaller wedding. It is the most romantic and charming venue right out of a story book. I absolutely fell in love with the garden the first second I saw it. Our talented event staff will help you plan your day and offer additional information. We invite you to take a personally guided tour to see all the beauty and history that make The Garden House at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center a venue that is the ultimate wedding and special event destination. We always recommend booking, as we are often very busy.Based in Ridgefield, CT, The Garden House at Keeler Tavern Museum is a unique wedding venue for your special day. But we will be happy to accommodate you, if we can and you play ball with us too.įood is also served in our more rustic lounge, by the wood-burning stove, where we allow dogs too.Īt this point we do not serve food outside, though are working on this for the future. Huge groups we're not quite so keen on (even in non-Covid times), as our food is not meant for mass production, nor our atmosphere for karaoke. We have a seasonally changing menu (with varied vegan options) and a small kids menu too. A mix of local landscape artwork and more abstract pieces, some old highland house-hold items and a bird and a fur or two hang from the walls.Īll are welcome, whether in your hiking boots or stilettos, young or old, local or just visiting. Our restaurant is a cosy, candle-lit affair, recently re-furbished using a mix of soft contemporary furnishings and antique lighting charred wooden wall panelling and Scandinavian style exposed beams. As is an inherit enjoyment in a beautifully presented plate of food, a glass of fine wine and knowing passionate and friendly people will be looking after you. Yet while the briefcase, laptop and suit may have been left at home before travelling North - and who knows, maybe you did pack that Prada dress, we applaud you - taste buds are less detachable. This sets our little part of the country aside, meaning visitors can feel totally relaxed and be themselves. On the contrary, the pretentiousness and anxious pursuit of next-level-cool that surrounds so many UK cities, is totally absent in Aviemore and The Cairngorms. That doesn't mean the people lack style and taste. You'll find the business district hard to locate here. Walking around Aviemore, the town is awash with mountain bikes and 4x4s, Goretex and Primaloft. We use the best produce available to us, naturally, with a localised leaning, striving to create new and delicious combinations for you, but we're pretty relaxed about the whole thing. We take our food seriously at The Old Bridge Inn, but not ourselves.
